I've been experimenting with the written word for as long as I can remember. Before I could write letters, I drew pictures of my stories in a fat binder of dot matrix paper that dad brought home from work. Later I would tap out books on an antique typewriter in the attic, sometimes even creating magazines by writing my own articles and cutting out graphics from existing magazines. As an adolescent I would use the fancy typewriter purchased by my mother that had a tiny little screen where you could digitally type things out and then print them (an early "computer" of sorts!). Later, I would get my B.A. in English (www.lakeforest.edu) and then my Master's in English (www.ucdavis.edu). Throughout this time, I have been working on short stories, articles, essays, and various incarnations of a novel.
